  I was a student here for 2 years and if you're looking for a school that can cater to just about any social emotional issue this is the place. The staff are very relatable and come from all different walks of life. The support staff are more of mentors than staff. As far as academics go this school lacks tremendously. On the high school side there was about 50 kids. somehow the school hasn't managed to secure enough books in any single subject for just one class to have a book for every kid. on top of this we had to wait to write papers or work on projects because there aren't enough laptops for even half the school. At any given time one Certified teacher could be teaching anywhere from 1-3 subjects at once. This left me consistently confused and i never really learned anything because there wasn't time for the teacher to actually "Teach". The absence of homework, tests, and essays made me feel unprepared to jump back into public high school knowing that i lacked the majority of building blocks that are needed to move onto and be successful in more advanced courses. If you want to go to college you have to take the sat/act and because of the lack of focus on academics i felt unprepared. on top of this there is no way to check grades from home the only way is to ask a teacher. This school taught me a lot about myself behaviorally and emotionally but as far as academics go i learned a very minimal amount. I enjoyed my time here and it was hard to go but knew if i wanted to be successful in college i needed to leave. If this school can figure out the academic portion of the program this would be an amazing school and the perfect place to send a child who needs help getting on track.
